  1. First time visiting South Austin Beer Garden… While sitting with my Dad at the bar we found out about a tragic loss of a family member. The bartender overheard what had happened and let the owner know. He came over shook our hands told us he was sorry for our loss and the tab is taken care of. Can’t thank you and your staff enough for taking care of us after finding out some terrible news.

  2. Thumbs up for this neighborhood bar! Nice layout with seating inside and all around their patio deck outside. Extensive drink menu with some concoctions you usually don’t see at other bars. Good crowd of people and good mix of music (80s, early 2000s rock, etc..).

If you read other reviews about the staff being on point, it’s absolutely true. Great service and everyone was super friendly.

Bonus: The Cluck N Burger food truck is parked in the bar’s side seating area. The food was good and hit the spot. Looking forward to trying their wings next. Sticking with the “everyone here was friendly” theme, the Cluck N Burger employees were awesome. Good people.

Stop by and check this place out.

  3. Love it here. Great people, friendliness staff. Always having a blast. And I usually don’t care much for outdoor venues. But this one is classy, also has an AC indoor part of the bar. Great food from the food truck. Not enough good things to say about my favorite bar in Austin.

  4. This is an awesome spot in South Austin considering how little there is to choose from in this area. So glad this is available because it has such a large drink selection! I personally love their ciders and my husband likes to experiment with different beers. Plus it’s dog friendly!

  5. Cool place to visit. Even in this stupid heat at 10:00pm at night.

Service was stellar and made solid recommendations on what to drink. Food trucks were delicious and unique.

Place was clean and well organized as well as pet friendly.

Will definitely go back again and try other beverages as well as different food items. Especially when it starts to cool down a bit this will be a great place to hang out.

  6. Bartenders are friendly and helpful. Can eat food from food trailer right at the bar inside! Cocktails were good and beer selection (obviously) impressive. A limited amount of indoor seating but great patio and game setup for kids and whatnot outside. An awesome much-needed hang out in South Austin! The food trailer cluck-n-burger is really delicious! Wings and veggie burger were delicious and very generous portions. Owner of trailer even game me extra queso for my burger at no charge. 🙂

  8. I have been wanting to try this place with all the anticipation of “opening soon” I gave it a few weeks after they opened to visit to allow them time to work out all of the kinks. I went on a Sunday afternoon with friends and this place did not disappoint…Although they market themselves as a beer garden they have a full bar and wine…I knew that parking was limited so we took a Lfyt and got 10% off of our tab for using ride sharing…There was an eclectic crowd and the drinks were on point (Vodka, Bourbon, Beer) something for everyone…It’s dog and family friendly…The service was fast and friendly…I am in Austin often for business and look forwarded to continuing to come back here to chill with friends and family…It was refreshing to get out of the downtown area and hang with with the South Austin folks….

  9. Loved my experience here. Very reminiscent of Moon Tower, but far smaller with less of a crowd and a huge focus on the outdoor space and open to the outdoor concept. The beer selection was wonderful and the food truck was fantastic shout out to Cluck-N-Burger. I counted but over 50 taps for sure! Parking was great on the day I went but it will be an issue as this place becomes more and more popular. I wish them nothing but success but a piece of me wants it to grow slowly with the surrounding community, and become a staple of South Austin life.

  10. The frochata was awesome! We’ve been here twice and enjoyed our visit.
Great amount of space, friendly and attentive staff, plus Cluck n Burger in the back has great food.
Kid and dog friendly- at least during the day

  11. My husband and I stopped in yesterday for a drink and to check this place out. We heard about it from a person in our community FB page.

SABG sits right off of Manchaca road. They had limited parking lot parking but we parked up the hill in a dirt area. No worries there. It is not too far from Moontower either.

SABG has a huge patio and boasts to be 3,000 sq ft. You can bring your dogs, watch TV, and drink under umbrellas while sitting on picnic tables. Their selection includes beers, ciders, and cocktails. Overall, a great place to chill out and grab a few pints.
