Live Music: Henri Herbert & The Fury

10:00 pm - 12:00 am

Henri Herbert & The Fury don’t ease into a show—they hit the stage like it’s 1957 and the piano might not survive the night.

Herbert, who was born in France and raised in England, first made his name as the powerhouse pianist for the explosive rock ‘n’ roll outfit The Jim Jones Revue before relocating to Austin to immerse himself in American roots music.

Since then, he’s become one of the city’s most celebrated boogie-woogie and blues pianists, earning multiple Austin Music Awards and building an international following with his high-octane live performances.

Backed by The Fury, Herbert delivers a full-throttle mix of boogie-woogie, early rock ‘n’ roll, rhythm & blues, and blues that’s equal parts Jerry Lee Lewis, Fats Domino, and Austin grit.

The band’s debut full-length, Get It While It’s Hot, captures that raw, piano-driven energy that’s made them favorites everywhere from Austin dance halls to festivals around the world.

If you’re into pounding piano, vintage rock ‘n’ roll, and the kind of show where the crowd is smiling before the first song is over, Henri Herbert & The Fury are guaranteed to light up the room.
