2025 3-Day Texas Women Songwriters Festival
Celebrate the power of storytelling through song at the inaugural Texas Women Songwriters Festival, held over three unforgettable days from September 19-21, 2025, in historic downtown Lockhart, the BBQ Capital of Texas.
This vibrant festival brings together over 50 talented Texas women singer-songwriters, offering audiences an immersive experience of original music, shared stories, and deep connection.
This year’s headliners—Rosie Flores, Tish Hinojosa, Sara Hickman, Kimmie Rhodes, and Pauline Reese—represent a range of genres from country and folk to Americana to Spanish language artists, creating a lineup rich in tradition and creative depth.
This event is free and open to the public. VIP passes are available on a donation basis and parking is available on the street. Thanks to sponsors: The Austin Chronicle, BMI, Kaman Foundation and 6 String Ranch, Strait Music, Elixir Strings, Kingdom Sound and Yeti, to name a few!
The Texas Women Songwriters Festival, in its inaugural year, is an event that brings together Texas’ women singer-songwriters in an intimate setting to showcase and celebrate the diversity of female culture in Texas music.
The Festival is the brainchild of Mandy Rowder, founder of Girl Guitar, Austin’s acclaimed guitar-and-songwriting school for women and business professor in the school of music at Texas State University.
Mandy holds a Master’s in Musicology from Texas State University, where her thesis on Texas women songwriters helped inspire the vision behind the Festival.
