Cortisa Star
At Austin’s avant-edge of rap and fashion, 19-year-old Cortisa Star performs live at Empire Control Room on Tue Nov 11. With her viral hit “Fun,” Jersey-club beats and runway-ready aesthetic, this show blends raw energy with unapologetic identity. Support by PINK STAR & Ak_4ya.
Cortisa Star is a 19-year-old rapper, model and emerging cultural force. Born in Baltimore and raised in rural Delaware, she broke through the digital underground and made major waves in 2024-2025. Her breakout single “Fun” went viral early in 2024, tallying millions of streams and earning endorsements from artists like Charli XCX and Lil Nas X.
Her sound blends distorted 808s, Jersey-club rhythms and hyperpop energy; her debut EP “E.M.O. (Evil Motion Overload)” (April 2025) showcases tracks like “Misidentify” and “Paris.”
On the fashion front she’s worked as a model (signed to Next Models) and been featured in publications like Vogue and i-D, becoming one of the few openly trans voices bridging rap, performance and fashion.
