Live Music: Back In Black – AC/DC Tribute

Back In Black is a long-running AC/DC tribute act out of the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The band was formed in late 2000 by former Los Angeles bandmates Mike Mroz and Darren Caperna, and delivers a high-energy, note-for-note reproduction of an AC/DC concert. They stand apart from other AC/DC tributes by including tribute performances of both the Bon Scott and Brian Johnson eras.

The act is known for striking authenticity, both in sound and look. In March 2016, the real AC/DC auditioned vocalist Darren Caperna as a possible replacement for Brian Johnson on their world tour, and the band has been chosen by major industry players over the years — including being recruited by Sony Music and selected to record AC/DC classics for film soundtracks.
