Live Music: St. Lucia

St. Lucia is the musical project of South African-born songwriter and producer Jean-Philip Grobler and his wife, Patti Beranek.

The pair met while studying at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts before moving to Brooklyn, where they launched the band in 2012.

Drawing inspiration from ’80s synth-pop, new wave, disco, and art-pop, St. Lucia built a devoted following with shimmering hooks, lush production, and songs that feel equally at home on a festival stage or a late-night dance floor.

Their breakout album, When the Night, introduced fan favorites like “Elevate” and “All Eyes on You,” and they’ve continued to evolve with acclaimed releases including Matter, Hyperion, Utopia, and Fata Morgana.
