  1. Great tour…highly recommend. Smaller groups. Our guide had only worked there for 3 mos but one would never know that…did a great job…very professional but friendly and answered all questions…unlike other tour guides elsewhere that come off as “told this story a million times…”.

  2. My favorite tour company by far – I send all my visiting friends for AO Tours and they come out of the bus loving the experience. No matter which tour you pick, the drivers/tour guides are incredibly knowledgeable and always come across as people who LOVE the city they live in. Mary is amazing and makes my booking a breeze every time!
    Thank you Mary 🙂

  4. Great experience. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. Especially enjoyed the tour of hill country west of Austin. Would definitely recommend this tour.

  5. If you only have 48 hours in Austin, this is a great tour to take, see the city, look at some landmarks, and learn a little bit of history. For my visit, I made a reservation in advance and opted the Austin + Hill Country Tour at 2:30 pm.

The first pick up spot of the tour is in the lobby/seating area of the Austin Visitor Center, so if you’re just in the gift shop area or seating area, they won’t miss you during roll call.

If you’re meeting at the Music Center, it looks like you can check in with the guide stationed there and he will lead you to the van when it arrives.

They leave promptly at the scheduled times, so I recommend not being late, even for a minute. They will leave you. The tour does run for a full 90 minutes, and even goes over, depending on traffic.

I would recommend meeting at the Austin Visit Center if you can. That way, you can first dibs on seats as they’re unassigned. The van is air conditioned but it’s really hard to block out the heat in a black van in 100 degree weather.

  6. I’m not one for tours, but I really enjoyed this short 90 min prance around Austin. Not only do you get a very thorough history of Austin with interesting facts along the trip but you get to see some of hill country too.
I was able to book the tour the same day within a couple of hours and they even came to pick me up at the marriott where I was staying. The tour guide was really talented, driving and doing all that talking i think must be pretty difficult and tiring. the tour was $25. It’s a great way to learn about Austin and see where you want to go visit.

    Definitely recommend.

  7. The tour was great. The guide was even better. My only regret was downing a jug of water and not taking a bathroom break before the tour. This experience made me want to take bus tour is every new city if visit. The tour helped me gain better sense of what sites I was interested in exploring and provide a history of the Austin.
