Circuit of The Americas is the premier destination for world-class motorsports and entertainment in the United States.

COTA is 1,500 acres in the rolling hills just outside downtown Austin. The venue has hosted the biggest names in racing, action sports and music since 2012. At its heart is a 3.41-mile racetrack that was designed to challenge the world’s most exacting competitors while providing a thrilling spectacle for audiences.

Racing Circuit

The 20-turn, counterclockwise circuit takes advantage of the naturally undulating landscape, including an intimidating 133-foot hill at Turn 1 that must be seen in person to be believed. It is home to the only Formula 1 and MotoGP races in the country — the UNITED STATES GRAND PRIX and Red Bull Grand Prix of The Americas — and has played host to ESPN’s X Games, the FIA World Endurance Championship, IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, Pirelli World Challenge and more.

Germania Insurance Amphitheater

Nestled within the track is Germania Insurance Amphitheater, the largest permanent outdoor amphitheater in Central Texas, and its 251-foot signature observation tower. This unique treasure in the Live Music Capital of the World has hosted some of the biggest names in music and entertainment, including Texas icon Willie Nelson, Jimmy Buffett, KISS, Nine Inch Nails, Kanye West, Kenny Chesney, Drake, Maroon 5, Muse, Kelly Clarkson and dozens more.

  1. It’s home to many events all of varying kinds. Parking and shuttle service is handled In a acceptable way. If you haven’t you should definitely go to at least one event to experience it first hand.

  2. What a rad place!! Food is pricey but the experience is worth it!! Ride the new go karts!!

  3. Lots of fun.
Sure it’s a drive for most people in Austin but it is worth it. First, you are in an F1 facility. The carts go fast, you need skill to drive properly. The track is challenging, unlike other indoor tracks which are aimed mainly at kids.
Races are $28 for about 15 minutes. You will want to race twice. They often have sales for Mondays.

  4. Great experience in this enormous racetrack. Plenty of entertainment and a vast array of food options all around the track. There are many food trucks and lots of good barbecue options. There are different venues for general music entertainment or shows with both assigned seats or general access lawn option. BE READY TO WALK!

  5. Fun afternoon of gocarting. These things are pretty fast and the track is a good challenge. 10 minutes goes really quick, book two or three sessions with a 20 minute break inbetween.

  6. Checking out the F-1 events at the Circuit of the Americas. Very nice venue and getting better every year. At the Alfa Romeo booth now, checked out the fan-zone, and watching F-1 and F-4 practice today. #alfacota2019

  7. Place is amazing!Management was amazing! Danielle P. and her staff made my family’s first visiting here special! Much nicer facility and staff than K1 Karting!

  8. It was my very first time watching (live) MOTOGP and my second time seeing MOTOAMERICA. I’m glad that it was here at Circuit Of The Americas. It was such an amazing experience. I definitely give COTA racing track 5 hearts (stars), that’s how much I loved and enjoyed every single moment. Good views everywhere! The adrenaline rush that I got was so thrilling every single time the motorcycles passes. It makes me wonder if I’ll get the same feelings if I were to see F1 racing here at COTA? I guess we’ll have to come back and find out.

  9. I love this venue! Every concert I have been to here has been very enjoyable especially when considering a full outdoor venue in Austin Heat.
I recently sat at the seat area for the first time instead of the grounds and loved it even more. An evening show there will a little breeze and an ice cold drink you are set.
Their staff also deserves major applause, they were very accommodating to my needs as I am pregnant. If you have any special needs call their number and an actually human here in town will speak with you and your needs.

  10. COTA is a fun place, there is a lot to do there! I was just there for karting and the whole experience was very fun! Also had the chance to go there for soccer events and they have large spaces for all to gather around.

  11. COTA is a good time for all. Whether you’re watching the races, attending concerts, or both. It’s a sprawling venue so dress comfortably and don’t think “I’ll just walk it” … I’m known for that fatal flaw and my cowboy boots trekking from one end to the other didn’t end up working in my favor.

The races and VIP section are fun otherwise the lines for refreshments can be a bit daunting. It’s a good experience and the concerts are fun. The main stage only serves beer so I’ve sat through a few concerts sans alcohol. They should definitely serve more than beer. But, I’ve had an amazing time each time regardless.

  12. Circuit of the Americas is a first class venue for a variety of entertainment not just racing. They are constantly evolving it and offering new things to experience from concerts, go karts, racing, car shows, to now soccer!

  13. Our second year coming! And we love it, very clean, vendors who come for the event are very nice, and also the people who attend to watch the race, can’t wait for next year to watch Moto GP

  14. There is something for everyone here even outside of regular programmed events. COTA staff is top notch. I came with in a group (totalling 10 people) and had a tour of the property + karting experience + lunch. They offer Audi driving experience as well. The catered lunch was super flavorful and consisted of- rolls with whipped butter, tomato basil salad, oven roasted veggies, and chicken florentine. Absolutely satisfying. If you’re looking to book a private tour or corporate event- this is the place!

  15. COTA is the greatest motor sports track in America. It was designed for both MotoGP and Formula 1 use. I’ve been here twice for the MotoGP Grand Prix of the Americas and it has been amazing both times. It’s a short drive from awesome downtown Austin, and about and hour from San Antonio. Rolling hills in the background and great weather create a great experience for race fans. Live concerts, and track days for motorcyclists and car drivers alike. It’s great to finally have a world class track in the United States.

  16. We just got back from the 2019 MotoGP Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas. My wife and I had a fantastic time at this racetrack. We sit in the main grandstands for the race on Sunday. The velocity lounge was very convenient to get our drinks at. They even let us run a tab and pay at the end. What a great racetrack! We are going back!

  17. Great place for a day trip with family or friends….upper grand stands on first turn had amazing views of track and country side

  18. This was on my bucket list and something I will remember for the rest of my life. My first formula one race. Three days of fun!
    Loved every minute of it
Attended Saturday only but had awesome grandstand Sears. It was cold and rainy, but hey
If you like racing at all you gotta do this

Track grounds were wet and muddy, but still awesome. I’ll go back

  19. So glad that Texas has a world level track. Wear comfortable shoes cause there’s lots of ground to cover if you want to get different viewpoints of the track. During the winter holidays check out the winter wonderland.

  20. First time at a rally car event and I loved it! The Circuit of the Americas is a bit further than we were staying as we tried to stay at the closest Marriott, and it still ended up being about a 20 minute drive.

The space itself is quite large with ample parking (with paid parking for the ATX Rally Cross event we were at), we took an uber there and back and whew, the surge pricing in the evening was 3x because there were no drivers! All good though, it was nice to walk and we even got the friendliest cart driver who offered to drive us to the Uber/Lyft dropoff/pick up lot.

There is one building behind some food concessions that houses a restroom facility that has AC! Don’t know how long you want to stand in a bathroom just for the AC but good to note as there aren’t any other bathrooms I’ve seen. It was a bit far of a walk but hey, can’t complain!

Food vendors were mostly fried foods, tacos, or sandwiches. With Austin’s food scene, I was anticipating more food vendors offering something different than typical “stadium” food and by Day 2 I wasn’t interested in anything they were offering. Maybe it’ll be different next time!

Can’t wait to go back to watch a Formula One race or other car event. My husband loves cars and I’m glad he talked me into checking out the American Rallycross Championship this year! Very cool.

  21. Great place to watch Motorsports. Came here for F1 in 2012, and now just recently for MotoGP. The facility is way more finished and refined.

Easy to access from Austin, and plenty of parking. $20/day for general lot which is about 1/2 mile to entrance. You can find prepaid for $40 for weekend for this specific event.

Lots of general grass areas if you don’t want to pay for grandstand. Lots of open space, good for families and kids of all ages.

Plenty of on site food vendors, and variety – for this larger event.

  22. Honestly, I was surprised by how much fun I had here today. Place is awesome, facilities are dope, race was fun. Came for the Pirelli races; totally didn’t disappoint. Drink/food was pretty pricey (think six flags prices +50%). A double shot pina colada with 2 shots of Tito’s was $18. Ouch!

  23. Machines and wheels are surely my delight
Crawling my way to first is my favorite fight
I yearn to be the best with all my might
And racing around this track makes me feel just right

I park my ghetto trailer alongside the big boys
We all stare, polish and tune all our big toys
And smile at each while being rather coy
Looking under each hood with untethered joy

This is a great place! My personal favorite playground for both spectating and participating in Motorsport! Clean paddock and put, well organized and cool garages, etc! Even the cafe is bueno!

I’ve seen a few F1 races and LoneStar Lemans too! I can’t get enough!
