  2. Love love love this place! My husband and I go quite frequently, and we rented out one of the mini homes for my birthday!!!

The food is amazing and there isn’t a bad seat in the house! I also love that you can watch the movies from up top on their patio—-which is conveniently by the bar 🙂

  3. This is a great spot for date night, hanging out with friends, or having an all ages family gathering. It’s a beautiful setting that seems like it’s in the middle of nowhere (although it’s only about 10 minutes away from I-35), and the movies are great – we saw Shaun of the Dead and the original Friday the 13th, and the other screen was showing Back to the Future and Twister. They’ve got a nice local beer selection (along with wine), and great food. Pro tip: get the s’mores, it comes with a sterno flame so you can toast your marshmallows and make your s’mores fresh just the way you like them. Brilliant! The folks who run and work at the place are all super friendly and helpful. It’s just so chill, and comfortable, and fun, and away from the city just enough that you feel like you’re going on an adventure, but one that’s easy to get to and awesome to accomplish. I can’t wait to go back.

  4. Never been to the drive-in and believe me when I say that it was HIGH up on my bucket list.

Took the wife and dog to a Friday night double-feature of The Sandlot and The Little Giants…ahh, 90s childhood nostalgia. Doc’s is easy going and intuitive. Buy your car slot online ahead of time and the nice young ladies out front will direct you there. We showed up early and enjoyed the setting sun while enjoying a sampling of Doc’s many refreshments. Next came the pre-show reel of vintage drive-in snack ads. Capped off with the movies themselves; projection was clear and sound, piped in through the radio, couldn’t have been better.

Such an inviting and friendly atmosphere. A true slice of the past, recreated. Can’t wait to go back!

  5. What an awesome 4th of July!! We celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary at the drive in and it definitely did not disappoint! Fire works for every anniversary!! How hard it must have been to put that show together with everything else going on at this lovely place! Everyone should experience Doc’s!! Their staff was so helpful and professional. Can’t wait to come back and bring our children. They will love it!

  6. The movies here are always so fun for us to come watch. They also have great food options on the menu and an upstairs bar on the deck where you can get a drink. We just came for the 4th of July fireworks and it was awesome! Great way to spend the night watching the fireworks up close, Thanks Docs!

  7. This is BEYOND 5 stars worth of family fun and adult adventures wrapped into one Awesome evening you will not soon forget! My family recently enjoyed the 4th of July event of a lifetime! Live music, patriotic popsicles for the young’ns, horseshoes & other outdoor games and yummy foods and treats! My favorite part was the spectacular fireworks show!! Granted the place was sold out but the fact that the owners Sarah & Chris are soo down to Earth…it still managed to feel intimate and personal! From the Belgian waffles smothered with Nutella, whip and bananas to the HUGE cheeseburgers(my son still managed to demolish 2!! Crazy Teenagers!!) their food is So delish! There is a Wine, Sake etc bar upstairs with a deck to enjoy the night breeze while you catch the movie on a “regular” movie night(I know…because I have enjoyed a spirit or two up top!) I can’t brag enough about this spot and the nostalgia it brings to my heart for when I was growing up!! I’m grateful to have such a swell entertainment spot so close to home! Until the next time Doc’s!!!…….

  11. I’ve never written a review for anything in my life, but YOU GUYS. This place is amazing. I took my girlfriend here last night and we had such a great time. If you’re thinking about buying tickets, DO IT. If you’re still unsure, read on for my evaluations of the theatre, location, people, and food.

The Theatre – Moderately small, only two screens. There weren’t that many people there, so that was nice. My only critique of the movie was that the sound quality we were getting from the radio station that we had to turn into to hear the movie (screen one was 87.9 or 89.7, don’t quote me) was pretty rough at times. I’m not sure if that’s something that they can control though. Before you come, it might be a good idea to download apps for the radio station you’ll need to tune into so that you have that as back up in case the sound quality gets bad.

The Location: Pretty out in the middle of nowhere = no light pollution!

The People: The staff were super friendly. The guy who checked our tickets was super nice and so were the people working the concession stand.

The Food: My GF got the Millie dog and I got the pulled pork sandwich. Mille dog was fine (she didn’t say otherwise lmao) but the pulled pork sandwich….y’all. It was only $9 and it was HUGE. And the pork was soooo good. If you don’t come and see a movie, at least stop by and get a pulled pork sandwich to go…you won’t regret it.

All in all, amazing place. My GF and I had never been to a drive-in movie theatre before and Doc’s Drive-In Theatre definitely exceeded our expectations. We’ll be back soon for sure.

  12. We went to go see ‘Ready Player One’ and were not disappointed by the high quality movie screens/speakers, or the fun, personable staff!
I was really impressed with the bathrooms, which are tidy and not port-a-potties like every other drive-in theater!

Also pretty surprised by how good the food is. The chef Mike was really nice and funny while whipping together my waffle, then hand-delivering it to my fat face
    Definitely coming back!!

  13. Incredible experience, I’ve been to a lot of drive-in theaters but they all pale in comparison to Docs!!

I had my 21st birthday here and it was great! They were able to host all my friends and me! The bar is fun and different than the usual Austin bar. They have a dope bartender Kodi and she was pretty cool aswell

The staff is all incredibly friendly and inviting. I got the nachos with brisket and Colin brought it over to me.

They also had live music playing when I was there and that was pretty lit too.

  14. Perfect place for a date night or night out with friends. And if you show up early you can sit out on the rooftop bar and have a drink before the movie starts. They have some tables and seating area if you don’t want to sit in your car but we sat in our cars and loved it. The movie quality is great! The bathrooms are cute and clean. The concessions are fun and unique. I can’t wait to try more off the menu. Wish it wasn’t an hour drive for us or we would go way more often!

  15. What a great addition to the area! We celebrated my daughter’s 13th birthday here with a double feature of Beetlejuice and the 1950’s classic House on Haunted Hill. We had over a dozen teen girls and a few parents, and everyone had a great time! The owners and staff were so friendly and accommodating, and we will definitely back. The rooftop bar is a nice touch, as are the creative food offerings. Prices are very reasonable and the film sound and image quality was excellent. Bathrooms surprisingly high-end and very clean. Highly recommend for a group, but also would be fun with the family or a date. Thanks for opening this venue, we can’t wait to see what you have in store as this concept space grows and evolves.

  16. This place is great! My husband and I went last night for a double feature of Ghost and Sleepy Hollow. The owners and employees are some of the nicest people. Overall good atmosphere and a great place to hang out on a Friday night. We will definitely be back again!

  17. Had an enjoyable night with my husband at the drive in. The Denny’s have come up with this fun concept for a drive in theater. Great menu items – we enjoyed the nachos, popcorn and couple cans of Shiner Bock. The bathroom was nicely designed. There are a few outdoor games – corn hole, a large connect 4 and jenga blocks. There are also a few tiny movie themed homes on site for weekend getaways. The staff is all very friendly. Definitely has a family friendly outdoor ice house kind of feel.

I look forward to seeing the concept unfold when the below ground speak easy/ restaurant is built.

  18. I visited the theatre from Chile. It’s been so fun to see how it has developed from nothing into this great project. I’m so excited to visit it again when it opens!
