  1. Cool rooms with very comfy beds! Location on SoCo was excellent for walking around and visiting shops and restaurants. Common room with complimentary beer and wine was awesome.

  2. This hotel is a pretty little boutique hotel (we’ve visited friends staying there before) but their cancellation policy is unreasonable and I was initially disappointed in the lack of flexibility the owners showed in the midst of a severe weather event [see update below]. More specifically, my husband and I just tried to cancel our booking for the upcoming weekend because a hurricane and tropical storm are going to hit Texas and are expected to cause severe flooding in the Austin area over the next 24 hours. The hotel wouldn’t even consider allowing us to cancel and receive a partial refund or a credit for the amount paid to use another weekend. I thought either of these were very reasonable compromises under the circumstances. Instead, we have to forfeit the full cost of the room. I expect a hotel of this caliber to be a little more flexible and compassionate in a situation like this. I didn’t expect a full refund but I did expect them to meet me half way. [UPDATE: Within a few hours of my initial conversation with the hotel (and following the posting of this review) the hotel called me back and, in light of the weather emergency, offered us a credit for the night we have to cancel, which can be used any time in the next year. I view this as a very fair resolution.]

  3. Being from hectic NYC, coming up the steps to see a tree trunks and a waterfall instantly calmed me.
The bed, food, drinks and overall design was inspiring to bring this level of living into my own home.
Staff went above and beyond to make sure your every need was met during your stay. Owner even drives you to airport if your late for flight! 🙂

  4. Happened upon this place on hotels.com and can’t wait to go back! The room was quiet and comfortable. The “self serve” aspect of this place is really great. It feels private but anything you need is provided. Great part of town as well!

  5. Really pleasant spot with entertaining restaurants and shops within such close walking distance. The decor is clean, peaceful, with a little modern pop. Great beds, large showers, great community area in/outdoors. Was a MAJOR plus to find a Tesla wall charger too!! I was stoked after a three hour drive turn led 4.5, I barely had any juice left, having that was an incredible comfort. The mini kitchen/lounge was super cute. Having both sparkling and still water in the room for unlimited refills was commendable. The robes are KILLER soft so please do try them out even if you’re not a robe person.

Very welcoming and accommodating host/property manager – they made sure I was able to park in the Tesla spot which shows how they’ll go the extra mile (oh god, in rereading this I see what I did there, corny pun alert, but it does get the point across).

Loved this place and the location. Only reason it wasn’t five stars for me was due to the street-facing wall being a bit thin which allowed you to hear people/traffic moderately easily.

I would note that I was staying on the weekend so I imagine most people would be out late and I def was not (in bed before 11) but it was quiet after midnight.

Love the spot, really do. Highly recommend!

  6. What a great hidden treasure! We were looking for a last minute hotel and like to stay away from big name places, always looking for local boutique hotels, when this one popped up. We booked & received a call about thirty minutes later with instructions on our home for the night. The hotel is small and quaint. It is in impeccable shape. The rooms are just the right size and in pristine condition. There is a 24/7 coffee, tea, and water bar in the common area. This will be our go to hotel for Austin trips without kids!

  7. Phenomenal. A bit hard to find and the narrow street is harrowing, but once you are there – oasis. No check-in/out. You choose a code when you book your room and it gets you in the front door and into your room.

There is a gorgeous courtyard with hammocks and a fountain, and a common room where breakfast is served and snacks and beverages (alcoholic and not) are always on hand. These were nuts, yogurt, clementines, m&ms, wine, beer, soda, make your own soda machine, and espresso machine. Breakfast was very good – hard boiled eggs, quick bread, bagels, yogurt, fruit salad.

We stayed in the red suite and it was spacious, beautiful, and clean. The bathroom was especially nice.

Both of the staff members we met (one was the owner, I think?) were so friendly. If you need assistance – they are on hand; but if you don’t – you might not even see them. Perfection. A total sanctuary retreat in super trendy South Congress. Highly recommended!!!

  8. One of my favorite boutique hotels I’ve ever stayed at.

-keyless entry for both the main door and room doors, you set your code at booking
-no check-in or check-out desk, but there is staff on the property throughout the day if you need them
-spacious common area and courtyard are in the center
-great breakfast options, wine & beer happy hour, snacks, and other beverages. Spent 4 nights here for ACL and didn’t get tired of the breakfast or snacks.
-its proximity to south congress avenue is close, you can walk everywhere

Basically you come in through the front and head straight to your room, almost no contact with staff. Property is well designed and intimate, less than 10 rooms.

Only negative issue would be no concierge, but with smartphones/tablets/Internet, there isn’t much need for it.

Great place to stay and would be my first and only pick if I’m ever back in Austin.
