Great food and most important, they’re dog friendly! My go-to place for a late, lazy breakfast. And the margaritas are perfect. Waiters/Waitresses are so friendly and don’t leave you sitting wanting more chips and hot sauce! They’re always coming around to be sure you’re happy and don’t need anything. The food couldn’t be better!!

Always a must do when we come to Austin! Laid back, friendly atmosphere. Great food! I am a full fledged carnivore, but l love the all vegetable plates with delicious spices.

Gluten-free Chips and Rediculous Hot plates. Service here is slow and Its seems like you are harassing every staff member that walks by for help. Other than that once you get to order the food comes out fast- hot and delicious. Beware! no matter how much you try to not touch the plates.(Maybe) You will accidentally burn a part of your hand or finger-LOL..Very tasty & consistent enchiladas and the tacos are amazing! Oh-The cheese! Omg melts in your mouth. Maudies! Definitely one of my favorite tex-mex restaurants.

Really nice Tex mex resturant that welcomed our dog on the outside patio. Food was good but the service was out of this world. Our young female server was very accommodating and even held back my wife’s order when she was away from the table on a short errand but was looking for her return and had her order in front of her within a minute of her return.

This is a MUST stop for Austin Tex Mex food! The only reason this didn’t get five stars is that they don’t have beer on draft. The salsa is to die for and I always have to be careful not to load up on chips and salsa or otherwise I won’t be able to eat my entree. I HIGHLY recommend Pete’s Tantalizing Breakfast Tacos. Breakfast is served all day and I could eat these tacos ALL DAY!!!

I was afraid that we would have a long wait since we arrived at noon (peak weekend brunch time and all), but we walked in and seated ourselves without any wait at all.
A waitstaff member promptly came over with menus and silverware and took our drink order. When drinks came, we ordered food and had only a brief wait before our dishes came out.
I had coffee with French toast, scrambled eggs, and bacon. The french toast was awesome- topped with powdered sugar and cinnamon. My husband had the sweet potato hash with black beans and a side of corn tortillas. He seemed well satisfied with his choice, even though he is not a fan of sweet potatoes.
Overall, it was a great experience with both service and food quality exceeding our expectations.
We will have to come back to this hidden gem next time we are on the south side.

Maudie’s is my favorite Tex-Mex in town. Once a month I crave enchiladas and Maudie’s is the place I order them. The fillings the sauce the quality are all top notch. Our sever was Grant and he was so superbly helpful as was all of the waitstaff helping us. Maudie’s is a true small town feel of a gem covered in Tex-mex heavenly gooey-ness!

Maudie’s reminds me of classic Austin, not Austin after all the millennials have moved in. It doesn’t get enough credit for the delicious Tex-Mex it produces. Maudie’s is always my go-to when I’m in Austin and has been for years; even with an influx of new restaurant concepts. We started with margaritas. Their house margarita with a sangria swirl always hits the spot. Don’t pass up the queso at Maudie’s; epecially with chorizo! We ordered Fajitas for Two with chicken for the meal. The chicken and veggies were seasoned very well and there was more than enough for two people. It included 3 tortillas per person, plus a huge plate of toppings and rice and beans. Julia was our server. She was attentive and was always there to bring us refills on water and chips.

I really enjoyed Maudie’s. While I’ve never been there before, it seems to be a local favorite just by the crowd we were there with. The serves were very nice and seemed to know their regulars well. We had the guacamole for an appetizer. It was nothing special. The salsa was also average. I had the beef fajitas and my partner had the enchiladas. Both were very good. The beef was tender, flavorful and lean. They used both green and yellow peppers which made me happy. In addition to dinner we did have a couple drinks. The Mexican martini was excellent but I was less impressed with the frozen margarita. For me, the margarita was a bit strong, I’m not sure how they flavor them but I suspect it was a mix because of the flavor.
If you have room, make sure to try their ice cream. I can’t remember the name but it has pecans, cinnamon. This was one of the better ice creams I’ve ever had.
