This might be my favorite bar I’ve ever been to. So cute, great energy, and a little bonus with Stubb’s on site!

Our Fasten driver thought it was weird we were going to this bar, but I would definitely go back – what a fun place! It’s a bit gritty, but has so much character.

Nice big patio with a TV for watching games. The inside is really eclectic, with all kinds of stuff on the walls.

You can get Stubbs BBQ here too, which we did – it was a bit meh, but the atmosphere of the bar made up for it.

Hey Mean Eye Cat.. I’m in you right now.

It’s been awhile. Remember when I used to work at the tall building next door? Remember all the good times? Two years of what can only be described as pure joy. It’s been a weird folksy few years.

I miss the old mean eye, sure, but the new place is pretty great. Thanks for being you.

I like this place, they have good food. Very Austin type of bar. I would check it out with friends if you’re in the area and you want some good food and good drinks.

I’m a huge fan of the laid back atmosphere, dog friendly vibes and cheap beer at mean-eyed cat. Additionally, it’s easy to find parking, AND there’s delicious BBQ on site, if you get hungry.

Great happy hour spot.

Austin’s finest!

A Johnny Cash shrine doubling as an atmospheric bar. While it certainly helps, you do not have to be a Johnny Cash fan to appreciate MEC.

Right next to a former workplace, this was the go-to place for corporate happy hours or when we needed a break.

Relax outside on the super cool patio under an old huge Live Oak tree! Grab some nachos from Stubbs BBQ inside & drink some good beers! Blood and Honey and Thirsty Goat on tap.

Friendly bartenders, respectable selection of local beers, lovely atmosphere, bbq, & live music on the weekends, what’s not to love?

One of the last cool, original, old school Austin bars on the block. This area is quickly developing, so get down here, grab a plate of bbq and a cold beer or two.

They have lots of good local be selection, so don’t be shy!

I came here before I started the Fall 2015 semester .. my fun memory this year! lol
I loved loved loved this place. So eclectic and cool.
had a few of the speciality drinks:
1) spicy margarita – dont recall exact name but it had floating jalapenos in it and spiced rim. Absolutely delicious!
2) some drink similar to an old-fashioned. yum but it was super strong. Let’s just say I got my $$ worth on this one. and I had to order food afterward… which was great since they have Stubb’s BBQ inside of this bar.

Great times, good music, cool ambiance. and they love their regulars there… someday I hope to be one.
