  1. Friendly staff and great selection of drinks. The parking is a bit rough with the street construction but it’s manageable. The snacks offered to buy are really good. Definitely a place to come if you like hearing live music and having a good game of human beer pong with red trash cans!

  2. Food is great, the watermelon beer was awesome, and the service is amazing. All the bartenders are very nice, quick, and attentive.

  3. We came.

    We drank.

    We saw.

That’s what happens when you’re on a group pedal bike and have a short amount of time to check out a bar. But what we did see, and what we did experience was by far one of the best open-air bars in Austin.

There was a total “backyard” vibe going on, complete with fire pits, lawn chairs, lawn games, and of course the bathtub for pics.

We arrived around noon and it was pretty much empty. The heat was ON, but they kept the area cool with fans and misters.

I had a delicious bloody mary complete with pickled okra – a must for any bloody mary going forward!

The Rustic Tap was the perfect amount of chill, but looks like it could be lively as the sun begins to set. A great Austin location!

  4. We love this place! Great service, large beer list, tons of room, cool atmosphere, nice employees, it has it all! Plus super dog friendly! Totally recommend for a day drinking place! We came on a Saturday night and there was a fun, lively band! Also lots of games and a bathtub for pictures for sure one of our favorite places!

  5. While other bars in the area were all crickets on a Tuesday night around 10pm, The Rustic Tap was bustling. There was live music (which seems to be their thing), so that might have helped draw a crowd, or it could have been the fire pits that create a backyard vibe, either way, I was happy to find something with a pulse.

I sat at the bar and drank two beers while the band finished up and then i watched the rest of a baseball game that was on TV. The bartenders warmed up to me after ordering the second beer. They were friendly and efficient; working the small crowd with ease.

Seemed like a bar that suits all different ages and all different drinking habits, so prob a good fit for any occasion.

  6. This is such a fun place – loved the garbage can beer pong the most! They also have jenga amongst other games. We stopped here on our Peddle Tavern tour and liked it so much that we came back afterwards. It’s yard is spacious and we never felt like we were fighting for space when we were here.

  7. Love hanging out- family and dog! Fun games and great drinks A little “hot” but had fans going. Great music- old country playing this afternoon.

  8. Didn’t expect to have such a good time here but it hit all the buttons. Cold night but really strong heat lamps and few fire pits throughout. Draft list has mostly local but the 5 top IPA in town all sit here. Little expensive at $8 a beer but considering there was live music when I went I considered it a tack on cover fee (no charge at the door). Big outdoor yard and live music. Small snacks but mostly you come here for the beer and liquor and good times. With tons of TVs I would definitely come back and spend an afternoon or night.

  9. Rustic Tap is SO fun! Bartenders are friendly, drinks are yummy (and fair priced) the games are creative and make you laugh, and the lawn chairs with the fire pit on cooler nights make this place picturesque. I make it a point to introduce more friends to this place every chance I get. It’s a fun, chill outside bar that does not lack activity or excitement. Really hard not to have a good time while you’re at Rustic Tap!

  10. Lovedddd stumbling into this bar that we ended up returning twice on our long weekend trip! We immediately gravitated toward the camp chairs / fire pit with blankets, since we must have caught Texas at its coldest during our visit (go figure). They had spiked hot chocolate at apple cider which made the experience even more cozy. Loved the apple cider so much- just strange it was in a regular cup instead of like a mug. Awesome choice of lawn games like garbage can beer pong or cornhole.. or the TVs more than likely will have a game on. We really enjoyed day drinking here.

  11. This was a super fun place to come. It has a fun laid back camping feel. The drinks are good and reasonably priced I loved the Tito’s prickly pear. They had some fun games, like trash can beer pong (I think that is what it’s called). We really enjoyed hanging ought here.

  12. Super cool bar. Where I’m from, there are not many places comparable to this. There’s live music, a band stand, a bath tub, fans during the day, fire pits at night, and lawn chairs and benches everywhere. Grab a beer and have a seat, you’ll be here a while!

  14. Fun bar with a big yard to play beer pong with empty garbage cans and volleyballs.  Camping-style chairs and the outdoor setting makes it feel lik a backyard BBQ.  Fun place for a drinks with friends.

  15. Austin Eastcider Pineapple is the BEST way to get Sunday funday started. Rustic tap is a gem in downtown and perfect for anyone looking for that backyard feel in the city!

  16. Had a great time here watching the cowboys game with all our friends. Super fun atmosphere. They had sombreros out that we all wore which was funny. And a giant sized beer pong game outside. Great game. Great vibes. Great times.

  17. This is a pretty cool spot! We got stuck in the rain walking around downtown and passed by this place. Although it’s outside, it has a covered bar which is cool. The bartender waved and told us to pop in while we were walking by so we figured why not! This place is connected to the Hoffbrau steakhouse and uses their kitchen I believe for some “bar bites”
It’s an outside bar, they have a nice area and large cups for large beer pong. The drinks are really fairly priced, the bartender was really friendly. She had blonde curly hair, I wish I could remember her name! Anyway, if you’re ever walking down west 6th stop by and give this place a shot!

  18. A chill spot to hang on West 6th! This place not only has a bar filled with beer, but also TVs, corn hole AND life-sized Jenga (what else do you need?!) It’s fun to come here with a group of friends and hang out casually on a slow night. You can watch football while taking advantage of one of the other activities. There’s plenty of seating and it’s easy to get in. The doorman seems really thorough about checking IDs though so make sure you can actually get in!
