  3. Saw “Ann” at the Zach. There was music and a bar before the event. Loved the event and the Zach.

  4. Fantastic performance. Hard to believe that it isn’t ANN Richards standing there speaking.

  5. Outstanding performance for A Christmas Carol! I’ve been to several theatres and this was by far the best compared to the others. I am planning to return in the near future.

  6. Dave and I saw “Curious” last night and I’m still thinking about it. I had read the book years ago but didn’t remember a lot of the details. Many of the scenes hit pretty close to home for us but not so much that we didn’t enjoy the play. I could go on and on but I guess my favorite aspect was how well the actors depicted life with autism–both being someone on the spectrum and living with a family member on the spectrum. Botton line: this is an outstanding show–if you can buy tickets before it ends next weekend I encourage you to do so. And if you go, be sure to stay in the theater till the very end.

  7. Exceptional first-rate theatre! Every play I have seen at the Zach has been exceptional – from the actors to the costumes and set design. Period plays were beautifully authentic and extremely detailed. Other plays like The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time showed enormous creativity that pulled you into the situations in the play. I highly recommend any production at the Zach!

  8. We saw the show on the opening, champagne performance. What a night! It was our first time at the new theater and it not seem to have a bad seat in the house. The play was both a faithful and creative adaptation of the ground-breaking book. From the excellent cast to the groovy set design and staging, every bit of the play was powerful. Also, the story kept us riveted and rooting for the characters throughout the play. A first rate hit! (I am not prone to hyperbole).

  9. I love coming the Zach. One of my favorite venues in town. #1 reason-you can SEE! Except for the front row, pretty much ALL of the seats are raised enough where you won’t have to worry if a tall person sits in front of you. #2 every show has been TOP notch. From the sets, lighting, actors to the front office-always a high level of awesomeness. #3 LOCAL-Nothing like supporting local theatre!!

  10. Just went to The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time at Zach Theater last night. What a fabulous production that really did justice to the book upon which this play is based and gave the audience an authentic sense of what it can be like for a person with Autism. I was so impressed with the creativity of the staging of the play and the unbelievable acting and meshing of technology with the acting. Wow is all I can say!!

  11. Always have loved our community theatre Zach. Great shows!!! However, Zach continues to be community theatre. Support true professional Theatre at Austin Playhouse. A Theatre that is day in and day out for paying Union wages. For 30 years, y’all. And St. Edwards University’s Actor’s Equity Program they have done for decades. You will see actual professional Actors on the stages of Austin Playhouse and St. Edwards’ Stage.
But, I still love my community theatre! Go see Christmas Carol!
