Scott Strickland w/Karima Santi – Black Artists Rock

Black Artists Rock is a first-of-its-kind festival centered in the “Live Music Capital of the World,” that celebrates the rich contributions of black artists in the rock, singer-songwriter, and folk genres. Participants can expect dynamic performances, intimate acoustic sets, special guests, great food & drinks, and a celebration of musical diversity in one of the most iconic music cities in the U.S.
The 2024 lineup features a mix of emerging and established local musicians, and blends the raw energy of rock with the storytelling essence of folk, creating a powerful fusion that resonates with Austin´s vibrant music scene. This year’s musicians include host Scott Strickland, who opened for ShinyRibs at ACL and is a Sonic Guild (formerly Black Fret) grant recipient, alongside weekly guest artists like Ray Prim, Nnedimmaya Agbaroji (of Trouble in the Streets), Keith Sanders (of Brother Thunder), Zak Webb, and Karima Santi.
All of the artists bring soulful vocals, guitar-driven melodies, and deeply personal lyrics to the stage, while highlighting the historical and cultural significance of Black artists in the rock and folk genres.
Proceeds will benefit Austin Texas Musicians and DAWA – Diversity Awareness and Wellness in Action
