The Far Out Lounge and Stage is classic Way South Austin. It’s a combination neighborhood bar and epic live music and event venue. With stages both indoor and out, a full craft cocktail bar and tasty food truck eats, it’s a destination south Austin fun spot for everyone.

There’s a great pool table in the “pool room” and large screen TVs for movie or game nights. The Far Out is very family and dog friendly. There’s a homey feel inside with couches and cushy chairs set up living room style.

The menu from the truck out back is bar fare done right — pork belly poutine, classic Chicago hotdogs, and a pork belly banh mi sandwiches.

Live music, and lot’s of it, is what’s really far out about this place (just take a look at all the upcoming events below). Enjoy !

New Austinites attended Friday of Psych Fest, and we had an awesome time!! Perfectly sized festival if you find big festivals exhausting (me). Two stages. The large stage is a good size! It clearly accommodated all of the Flaming Lips’ onstage shenanigans. The sound was great. The vendors were cool! Mix of neat items to browse. The food was lacking in our opinion with two food trucks that were overpriced. We didn’t partake. The bar had a good mix of drinks. Cannot wait to attend next year!

I’ve been here twice now for two different random events, one was chicken poop bingo and the other was the oyster Fest. Both times the venue was perfect and the outdoor space is gorgeous. The bar itself is very divey and I love that. Prices are great and I highly recommend.

First time attending an event at this location. Came to check out the Philly Cheeseskate Fest and see some bands. The outside was way bigger than I thought. Two stage set ups and there was a skate ramp too! Vendors were set up along the venue as well.
Wear comfortable footwear as the outside is all gravel/stones. I was wearing boots but still loosing my footing.

For quicker access in and out I would suggest ridesharing; parking was limited.

There was a few food trucks out. The pizza one was hands down the best.

One of the best places for live music in Austin. This spot has a vintage Austin vibe, the best sound and the best stage and lighting. All of the seating outside is awesome – picnic tables, patio tables with chairs and chill benches. There IS a food truck there, they have a full bar inside with bar stools, comfy couches, a pool table, a large screen playing random karate fighting movies and some rad painting on the walls.

Great atmosphere, Great food, great drinks.Staff is friendly and fun. My whole family had a great time. People definitely need to make it down to experience the Far Out Lounge.

Felt welcome immediately. Good draft selection with great brews. Loved the vibe. Ordered some food and it was straight up delicious. I will definitely be back here.

Fast bar service! Tried hard kombucha on tap. The whole bar had a unique feel with a matching live music line-up. On the edge. This bar is what hip will be in the near future. Thanks to ‘Acid carousel’ for showing us the way.

Super amazing bar and lounge! The design is amazing! Great beers on tap, friendly staff, and great food. Bands play Wed-Sunday and there is some talent on that stage. I would highly recommend stopping by.

Came here for the first time this evening and fell in love. They have a great selection of beer on tap and I never would have expected a bar to have food as good as this place! Don’t miss it!

In love with this little gem of a bar! They make a solid margarita. Our table tried their banh-mi and pork belly poutine and ended up ordering seconds to share. Pretty sure we’ll become regulars!
