Y’all, if East Austin had a heartbeat, it’d be pulsing right here at Brushy Street Commons. This historic soundstage on Brushy Street turns daytime chill into nighttime magic faster than you can say “one more round.”

Legends in the Limestone

Stevie Ray Vaughan and Willie Nelson once rocked music videos on this legendary stage. Universal Pictures filmed scenes for the 1981 classic Raggedy Man here. For over a decade it hosted Texas Lottery drawings that made Austin dreams come true on live TV. Now those 25-foot ceilings and intimate mezzanine overlook a space still buzzing with creative fire.

Day Drinks to Night Beats

Start your day with solid food, cold brews, and easy East Austin vibes. It’s the perfect low-key spot to meet up or just vibe out. As evening hits, the transformation is real—live music, comedy showcases, open mics, and late-night energy in the hidden Alley Bar take over. From indie sets to wild themed parties, every night feels like a discovery.

The Independent Austin Essential

No corporate polish here—just real-deal hospitality in a mid-sized room that feels both grand and personal. Right in the heart of East Austin’s creative scene, Brushy Street Commons delivers whether you’re hunting new tunes, stand-up laughs, or a memorable hang. Locals already know. Come see why the good times roll.

  1. Great venue – sound is excellent and the vibes are solid. This is the kind of venue that makes you love live music. They are also playing a lot of World Cup Games here…big screen and good drinks.

  4. Super nice staff..private type venue, you are right up next to the stage so definatly the “Hole in the wall” vibe, there was plenty of room for a medium to large crowd. The show was “Worry Club”, their encore was a favorite Cold Play track so I felt at home… grabbed some merch while I was there too! Overall a cozy place good times and good vibes!! Would do it again!

  6. Bad dreamers sounded so AMAZING. His singing was more beautiful than listening to it online. Timecop1983 was my first concert I have went to. And im glad this was my first. Every single band member and staff were extremely nice and funny. I would love to hear all them again like this next time brent did a great job with humor and so did Josh.
