We walked form Moody Center over to Crown and Anchor before a concert and it did not disappoint. Two of us ordered their burger and fries it was perfect. Another in our party ordered the mushroom Swiss burger and she really liked it. The last person in our partner ordered the chicken club sandwich. She said it was great. Everything was amazing and served in a timely manner. The atmosphere was just what we wanted, classic Austin chill vibe. I will be back again.

There’s a lot of places to get drinks and food from but there’s only one crown & anchor! If you’re looking for some of the finest burgers in Austin this is the place. Of course they have just about any beverage that a man or woman and or non-gender alternative to human could ever want. Bathrooms are a little disappointing but that’s probably the last reason why you would go to this establishment. Establishment is very clean and staff is friendly and courteous.

What an awesome visit. Crown and Anchor is an Austin classic for a reason, and after a three-decade hiatus, I was completely won over…..again. The atmosphere perfectly preserves its loyal, dive-bar charm and nostalgia, yet the overall cleanliness and maintenance are surprisingly top-notch. It’s the best of both worlds! The food truly was a highlight for me. I had a double cheeseburger with fries. It was excellent, instantly reminding me why this place is a fixture. What sealed the deal, however, was the iced tea—as a self-proclaimed snob, I can attest that they absolutely perfected it. This isn’t just a blast from the past; it’s a quality operation. For sure I won’t be waiting another 30 years to go back!

My favorite campus haunt, I try to visit any time in back in Austin. Delicious food, great beer specials, sweet patio seating – even in the dead of summer.

A great campus bar with cheap food and cold beer l. This is a great dive bar on the north side of UT with great cheap food and lots of beer specials. A spot to meet for a drink or two.

A+ beer selection, delicious burgers for an incredibly cheap price and possibly the friendliest staff I’ve ever met at a bar (and I drink at a lot of bars).

My fiancé is that obnoxious person who walks into a room and immediately tells everyone we’re from out of town. Maybe that attributed to the friendliness but I won’t complain.

We were trying to see as much of Austin as we could in one day, but if we had more time we would have stayed for a few more beers. Great patio too.

I can imagine this place being a complete cluster during football season. My alma mater plays Texas in 2025 and we may need to be here to find out 🙂

Everyone I know raves about their burgers, they really are so delicious. The Mushroom Swiss burger is my go-to. Great beer specials throughout the week with varying $3 pints. Great neighborhood pub!

The food here is consistently good, day in, day out. The price is reasonable and the place is relaxing. Definitely one of my frequent watering holes on campus.

Classic dive bar with cheap beer and cheap burgers/fries. Pool tables and dart boards, nice patio, TV’s for watching the BIG GAME.

Came to Austin for work and decided to stop in and have a brew and a burger. One of the best burgers I’ve had. It reminded me of a backyard BBQ. The food was excellent. The atmosphere was awesome and a lot of different beers on tap. The GM Erik is great as well. He was attentive to his clientele and just looks like an old biker. It’s right across the street from the university and has just a cool atmosphere. Check it out.
