  1. We had a wonderful vacation at Park Lane Guest House over the New Year’s holiday, and we really didn’t want to leave. The Carriage House is spacious and comfortable. The area is very walkable; we didn’t need to get in the car at all. Good restaurants and music no more than five minutes leisurely walk away. There are also nice parks nearby. But most of all we enjoyed just relaxing in the garden, watching the birds and listening to the sounds of nature. Shakti’s gourmet breakfasts were just the icing on the cake. We really enjoyed the hospitality! We will be recommending this place to all our friends, and we will be coming back.

  2. Spent a wonderful, long weekend at Park Lane Guest House. The vibe that Shakti has created is peaceful, happy, and easy-going. The grounds are beautiful! The chickens are adorable – their pen is impressive and they run over to say hello. The rooms all have peaceful, private decks where a truly gourmet breakfast is served. Shakti is an excellent cook! The refillable glass bottles of filtered water are a much appreciated extra detail as is the coffee bar and (pay extra) wet bar. The location is just far enough off of Congress Ave so that noise isn’t an issue, yet within walking distance to all of the shops, restaurants and entertainment – including the bat bridge!

  3. Absolutely loved staying at Park Lane. We didn’t want to leave and can’t wait to go back. The cottage house is cozy and spacious. The courtyard is romantic and whimsical. The pool is perfectly shaded for an afternoon of swimming and relaxing.
The owners were so lovely and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was hand delivered to our room and was absolutely delicious. South Congress is a 5 minute walk with all the entertainment and restaurants you could want.
Finding this place truly made my birthday weekend incredible. If you decide to stay here, I promise you will not regret it.

  4. I stayed at the Park Lane Guesthouse years ago and had the opportunity to return to spend my birthday weekend there recently. It’s hard to put into words how wonderful this place is. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, yet only minutes from the busy shopping, restaurants and nightlife of Austin. The rooms are clean, comfortable and stocked with everything you need. The breakfast each morning was incredible. I swear the pool has magical healing properties and the backyard is an oasis, be sure to venture out when the sun goes down to see all the beautiful lights in the courtyard. And say hi to the chickens, they love company! If you are looking for a great place to stay while exploring Austin, please keep this place in mind. I guarantee you will feel recharged both physically and mentally after a stay at Park Lane Guesthouse.

  5. I felt like I was staying in someones comfortable home, but I also enjoyed having so much privacy. A healthy, organic, delicious and beautifully prepared breakfast delivered to my cottage each morning was such a treat. The owners were a wealth of information about the local happenings going on around Austin. They are located just off of S Congress where there is all manner of shopping and restaurants and night life, but you would never know it because it is so peaceful, quiet and serene at the cottage. I felt safe and walked everywhere even at night. I look forward to staying here again!

  6. My friends and I had the best time here last weekend. We had 4 people staying in a cottage with 1 bed, so I slept on a pullout couch which was surprisingly verrrry comfortable. Shakti was awesome and made us feel at home. The outdoor area with the pool and the trees and chandeliers is super instagramable- especially the gorgeous outdoor shower. The location was ideal for us too- it was so nice to be able to walk down to all the food spots and shops on Congress Ave. Lovely walkable neighborhood with cool architecture. I will totally stay here again next time we’re in Austin.

  7. We absolutely loved our stay at Park Lane Guest House in The Vicky House. It was quaint, gorgeous, cozy, and perfect for a romantic getaway close to the action in the city. The breakfast was above-and-beyond phenomenal, the owners are in a class of their own. The pool was lovely, and the outdoor shower was so much fun. The Vicky House was private as well with the most comfy bed you can imagine. We loved our trip to Austin, and so much of that was due to Park Lane.

  8. Really relaxing place. Conveniently located a couple blocks from South Congress, we just parked our car in their driveway and left it there until we left Austin. Their courtyard/pool area is really quiet and a great escape from the hustle and bustle of the main streets.

They welcomed our two dogs, as well. They have two friendly dogs themselves. Only request they have is the dogs go with you when you go out (unless you crate them). Not much of an issue since Austin is so dog friendly.

They provided us with some amazing breakfasts. All made from locally sourced ingredients and stuff from their garden. Their chickens made some tasty eggs, too.

Would definitely come back for our next visit to Austin and recommend it to anyone and everyone.

    Thanks, Park Lane Guest House!

  9. I certainly enjoyed this bed & breakfast. It’s a peaceful, clean, relaxing atmosphere. The B&B is in a great location: tucked away in a quiet residential neighborhood, but a short walk from the South Congress area and within easy distance of a bunch of other fun places in Austin.

The place has several rooms: a guest bedroom in the main house, and separate cottages. Both are pleasant places to stay. The rooms are quiet and have good blinds for making it dark at night; even though I can be a bit noise-sensitive, I slept great.

This will be a plus for anyone who likes animals; they’ve got two small dogs (very friendly) and several chickens. There’s a nice garden area where you can sit on a lounger next to the pool and just chill. Oh, and their wireless/Internet connection is solid and very fast.

Don’t miss the outside shower for a refreshing way to start your day.

  10. My 5 sisters and I stayed at Park Lane Guest House for a weekend retreat. The accommodations and hospitality exceeded our expectations. 4 sisters stayed in Garden Cottage and 2 stayed in the SOCO room of the main house. The Garden Cottage and the courtyard were the center of our gatherings. We could hardly get ourselves to leave because the environment is utterly divine. The pool, homemade breakfast, hostess, and short walking distances to food, music, art, and play made our weekend perfect. We look forward nestling in for another visit in the future.

  11. This place is magical! I loved everything about our stay, and wished we could have stayed longer! I had the best sleep that I’ve had in a while during our stay (& maybe a few naps). The breakfast was pretty darn tasty as well! It’s the perfect spot to stay if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle but also a very short walk to tons of awesome restaurants and shops! We will be back again!

  12. We called and checked in late. They were very accommodating! The room was very large and so nice. They had a great pool and trees all around! I loved the chandeliers hanging on the trees! They are a “green” bed and breakfast which is very cool! I can’t wait to stay there again! Its tucked away which made it feel more private and secure! Very highly recommended!

  13. Husband and I came to Austin for a short vacation and also to explore the city, since we are considering moving there. Wanted a place to stay that was more in a neighborhood and would give us a feel for what Austin is really like. Park Lane achieved this for us and more.

We spent our first night in the SoCo room in the main house and the next two in the Vicky, a tiny, cozy little cottage behind the other guest houses. The SoCo room was comfortable and cozy. We moved to the Vicky for the last two nights and enjoyed the solitude, reclaimed lumber (the way to a preservationists heart), and flowering vines on the porch. The gardens are beautiful, peaceful, and lovely to relax in. The pool was cool and felt good on our tired feet. And breakfast was just delicious. We ate on the porch of the Vicky and enjoyed everything. Love that the food is all vegetarian, organic, and local.

Overall, we loved the cozy, homey feeling at Park Lane Guest House. It was welcoming and relaxing. The neighborhood was pleasant and pretty and very close to all the stuff to do on SoCo and the bus routes to get around to the rest of the city. Location means that there is no reason to rent a car.

    Would highly recommend.
